Whether it’s the smaller lineup or the additional time the musicians have spent with another, the performances are more purposeful and brisk...In fact, the band feels more inspired and daring, as if the greater rigor and precision has amplified boldness. “With continuous cooperation our work together goes deeper, which means we get to work on the micro level, our perception is more differentiated, allowing us to take risks and to consciously provoke musical happenings,” he says. “To surprise each other is getting harder, but it’s still a big component of our music. These moments of surprise are important as they might trigger something unforeseeable in the fellow musicians.
